The Mars-Uranus-North Node Conjunction in Taurus opened the month and maybe something new has broken open. Maybe it's telling us that it's time to get out of our own way and make room for the changes that have been in the works since Uranus entered Taurus in 2018/2019. What was the eruption? Was it an argument? A disappointment? A failure? A conversation? A newly opened door? An unexpected change of course? Whatever the catalyst, an extraordinary realization about yourself and your circumstances has bubbled to the surface. This transit is like lava in that it will flow into the various parts of your life (look to your own natal chart for more info about where) and destroy the little villages of truth you've built there. This may sound devastating, but remember, extremely fertile soil is found at the foot of a volcano and harvests usually increase the year after an eruption. Since this is centered in Taurus and Aquarius, questions of what to grow, nurture and build after the fires are apt.
On Tuesday, Venus in Cancer will sextile the Mars-Uranus-Rahu crew. This could bring some heat to a relationship and the slight rise in temperature could inspire actions that will come to benefit both parties. Venus is in mutual reception with the Moon, who is hosting her from Libra, so she is more than able to sprinkle some fairy dust onto angst. Use this chance to dig into the lessons of the transit and find a jewel or two to carry with you. This is also a good time to begin a relationship with yourself as if you are someone you are responsible for helping. Be kind to yourself. Give yourself enough rest, enough work, enough nourishment, enough exercise today to make life a little nicer tomorrow.
On Thursday, August 4th, a newly reemerged Mercury will enter Virgo where he is both in rulership and exalted. Virgo energy is grounding and good for sorting, analyzing and refining and Mercury as evening star lends a cool-headed receptivity to the busyness of the month. This is a quick transit -- Mercury will move out of Virgo and into Libra on August 25th -- so try to use this transit to organize and purify your mind, habits and environment so there is less clutter as we move into the second half of the year.
That said, we won't get much of a breather this week since on Sunday, August 7th, Mars will square retrograde Saturn in Aquarius and continue the eruptive energy that was set in motion earlier in the week. Ever since Saturn entered Aquarius, Mars has set off the Saturn-Uranus tension when moving through the fixed signs. Mars is force and Saturn is the wall. In this aspect, Saturn has the upper hand by being both in dignity and in the superior overcoming position, so any attack on Saturnian things (authority, rules, systems, structures, institutions) will prove futile. Better to put your arms away and conserve your energy for whatever Mars will be figuring out while pacing through Gemini for the next 7 months (starting August 20th). This is Mars's last hard aspect to Saturn in Aquarius, so consider this the beginning of the final phase of the Saturn-Uranus journey of the last year and a half.
